All children, not only have the ability but also the intrinsic motivation to learn, believed Dr. Maria Montessori.
In line with this belief, the Montessori environment which was first established in 1907 i.e. over a century ago has continued to keep its essence of inclusivity in education alive. Its principle of cosmic, inclusive education does not separate or segregate children based on their abilities, disabilities, giftedness or any other diversity (caste, colour,
creed or race).
Any child exposed to this environment is able to gracefully bring forth acceptance, acknowledgment, and respect for all of humanity.
Keeping this in mind, let us engage in a meaningful discussion on what inclusion means and how it can be implemented by applying different strategies.
