SUMMARY:Chalshiksha - Films\, Education and You
DESCRIPTION:We invite you to the first Chalshiksha event which is a 3-day residential festival where we will watch\, discuss\, and celebrate films based on education to encourage each and all to explore ways of learning\, using cinema as a lever. The festival will host\, film screenings\, talks\, workshops\, open discussion forums\, art\, music\, traditional games and more to choose and participate over the three days. \nChalchitra\, moving pictures\, transposing from still to motion perhaps is what may energise one to look anew at films\, while connecting to learning\, education and children\, especially after the stillness\, with hardly any movement over the past two years. \nThe objective of the film festival is to showcase films on education while reviewing education for oneself and for the larger circles one is a part of. There is as yet no film festival with a focus on child education in the region. The Festival  is also to encourage filmmakers to make films around education and see it as an arena for exploration. \nChalshiksha aims to create an annual event around films and education in all their variety\, leaning towards education practices that are humane\, to enrich the democratic culture of both the worlds of education and films. \nWho can come? \nAnyone and everyone interested in the education of children can join the festival as a participant. Individuals\, families and young people from all over India and the world are welcome. A variety of activities are planned to create spaces where intergenerational groups may happily interact and be a part of the community. \nRegistration \nThere are different ways of participation. Please read and choose accordingly. \n\n\n\n\n\nA. As a Participant\nB. Putting up a stall\nC. Submission of your film\n\n\n\n\nA1. Participation with accommodation and food for all three days \nFrom Thus 22nd Sep 5 PM to Sun 25th 10 PM\n\nB1 Commercial: Large\, Medium or Small \n\nColumn 3 Value\n\n\nA2. Individual Participation Fee\nFor school and college students the fee can be availed at 25% discount on show of the school/college ID. \nFor children below 5 years it will be free; however they still need to be registered. \nThe participation fee with food and accommodation is for all three days\, to encourage people to stay for the whole course of the event. Participation: Stalls \nThe commercial stalls are for the participants to sell produce\, products and services to the other participants and visitors coming to the event. \nNon-commercial stalls are to promote ideas\, philosophies\, practices\, free workshops\, demonstrations and so on. You are not allowed to do any kind of commercial transaction through non-commercial stalls. \nBoth commercial and non-commercial stalls are further divided into three \nsub-categories according to the size of the stalls. \n\n\n\n\nCommercial\nNon-Commercial\n\n\n\n\nSmall (5 ft x 8 ft approx)\n₹ 5\,000\n₹ 2\,500\n\n\nMedium (10 ft × 8 ft approx)\n₹ 10\,000\n₹ 5\,000\n\n\nLarge (15 ft × 8 ft approx)\n₹ 15\,000\n₹ 7\,500\n\n\n\nStall Information:\n\nAll the stalls will have equal depth. The width will vary accordingly.\nTables\, along with white tablecloths will be provided.\nEach stall can put up banners or screens within their stall area.\nBasic electricity will be provided. In case of more connections\, kindly connect with the Chalshiksha team after registration.\nAccommodation will not be provided but in case the stall participant(s) want to stay within the event premises then s/he/they have to purchase the event ticket for all three days (which will include food and accommodation) for INR 6\,000 per person or do the Day Registration. Refer A Individual Participation Fee\nStall owners will be responsible for the items (tables/chairs/tablecloths\, etc) given to them for and during the days of the Festival. They need to be returned before leaving\, on the last day to the Chalshiksha team\nOperational timing of the stalls are between 2 PM to 9 PM\, Friday to Sunday.
